LP21 is excited to launch its 2012-2013 season of activities
with the annual
BOMBA AND PLENA COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS
FREE OPEN HOUSE

A day full of free activities that kick off the registration for New York's only community school of Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba and Plena, offered by the incomparable Los Pleneros de la 21
and their crew of master musicians, dancers, drummers and community leaders.
 
Come to the Open House, and get a taste of the exciting year to come.
Take sample classes, meet the instructors, witness exciting performances and showcases/arts exhibits of BPCW graduates…
PLUS get access to limited registration discounts!
ALL are welcomed, and no one will be turned away!

Offered since 1989, the Bomba and Plena Community Workshops offers dynamic and engaging instruction on Bomba and Plena Dance, drumming, singing and performing classes. Additional activities include Masks and crafts making, fashion and set design and unique internship opportunities for youth interested in arts careers and community involvement.

We offer classes for all ages and skill levels including
CHESPIRITOS - kids 2.5- 5yrs old (in a unique parent-child learning format)
CHAMACOS - ages 6-10 yrs old
JOVENES - ages 11-16
ADULTOS - 17+

Classes run every Saturday from October 20th 2012 through June 2012

Registration for all youth programs continue through December - but spaces are limited, so register ahead of time...the Open House is the perfect time and moment to do so!

Walk-in's welcomed for adults classes all year long.
